Fermanagh

County Fermanagh is known as the Lake District of the south west of Northern Ireland. Lough Erne and the River Erne spans the whole of the county. It is a lakeland paradise, rich in history and culture. It is said that there are 365 islands on these lakes (one for each day of the year)!

Fermanagh is renowned for its great fishing rivers and lakes, its secretive caves and subterranean waterways, forest parks, nature reserves, megalithic tombs, monastic island settlements, award winning museums and National Trust stately homes & gardens.

The main town in the county is Enniskillen, which is a historical picturesque town, situated on a island between Upper and Lower Lough Erne.
